  • Will I pass smog?

If i have my check engine light on will I pass a smog check? The error on the check engine is for a TCC Circuit Malfunction (Torque Converter Error), which i believe is the transmission.

    THanks all,
    Roy

No, the check engine light on or a code in the computer will cause it to not pass.

i'd also like to add a confirmation that a torque converter error is most certainly a transmission issue.

I suggest that you find an auto parts store that has a meter for checking the engine for why the light is on. The meter can be used to clear the light. Then go directly to the smog check for inspection. I would also suggest that you find out what the error is soon. I wish the best of luck.

thank you guys. I had the error before and had my transmission serviced. The light went off but about 500 miles later it is on again.

The dealer checked it and said my torque clutch was working fine. But thanks for the advice.
