AX-15 rebuilders....help!!

I recently took upon the task of rebuilding an AX-15 for my buddy. In the dissassembly process a small piece came out of the case and I am unsure where it goes. I am now at the point to start reassembling this thing and I have no clue where it goes. Here is a pic of the piece...hopefully someone out there can help me since I have been unable to figure it out from the manual and exploded views.

that is a detent ball, or similar from the shift rail.

edit: it is a shift rail interlock pin.

thanks that file was much better than the manual I had and everything went back together smoothly.
