I was curious to know if anybody has replaced their stock AX-5 with an NV3550 transmission. I have done some internet study and it can be done nicely with the right amount of ca$$$h.
The Jeep has a 4:1 Tera-Flex t-case upgrade and 4.88 gears, and I actually like the 4cyl on the rocks! So I am thinking of upgrading to the NV3550 tranny because of the gearing possibilities (SP?)-4.01 first gear-and it's relatively light weight. (97lbs.)
Main point: I was thinking of trying to save some money by finding a NV3550 out at one of the wrecking yards and then buying the adapter kits from maybe the folks over at High-Impact and finishing it off.
