  • 727 questions for 304 cj

    I am looking at a 727 torque flite from a grand wagoneer. it has a 229 transfer on it. will it bolt up to my 304 and is the 229 any good. thanks for any thoughts.
    '79 cj7, SOA. shackle reverse, custom cage, flow master, holly carb, 35" maxxis tires, custom bumpers and rockers, dana 44's locked, bead locks

    I have 2 727's all my transfer casses are 305's or something in the 300's but I know the 727 is verry and let me say this again verry hard to kill

      The 727 is a good strong tranny,only problem with them is they starve from oil when at real steep angles.
      Your best bet for a t-case is the Dana 300,it should bolt right up to the 727,mine did.
      The 727 will bolt right up to a 304 and the 258 I-6.
      You just need the right plate.
