Oil Pressure Problem

my oil psi is fine when i start up and drive but shortly after i come to a stop it drops to 0 and my indicator light comes on. Then when i take off it goes back up to 40+.

Is this my pump or just a short somewhere. I dont wanna have to take off the pan.

Do you have the 4.2?

Start by replacing the oil pressure sending unit, or install a mechanical gauge(I believe they are more accurate)

Mine too all the web results that I have seen say that its a common problem. Mine did it for a while than when I hit 78K I switched to a 10w40 and no more pressure problems. I will be adding a real oil gauge b 4 summer though.
