  • Great....Another Blown Tranny?

So today i'm "wheeling" (trail was basicly a poorly maintained drit road...) everything is going great, I'm in one of the 3 sections where you need 4lo after that I go back to 2wd and I can't shift into any gear, after some jiggling I get it in first and second but not third. Heres what I can and cant do

    Can:

Shift from 1-2 but then no other gear

Shift from 1-3-4-5 but when I want to go back to 1 I have to shift back into 4

    Can't:

    Get it in R

Go from 2 to N, I have to shift to 1st first.

    Wierd Stuff:

When in 4lo I shift to 1st fine, but then the stick goes to N but stays engaed

The rest of the time 2 and 3 do that, the other gears stick like always.

There is no grinding in the gears. What the hell is wrong?

In a attempt to check some stuff out I made it worse, I removed the shifter and now I'm stuck in 4th (Maybe 3rd) gear. Heres the view I have where the shifter goes.

well what tranny do you have? what oil are you using? inside the pic you put up shows nothing so thats not your issue. its sounds like a syncho. pull your tranny fluid. if its a metallic mess somethings wrong. if it has only a little bit of metal flake in it, thats normal dont freak. you'll have some metal stuff on your magnetic plug. if the oil is completely aluminum looking in color, you got a boo boo. if its not the worst case scenario, buy some some Redline Mt-90 tranny fluid. its a miracle im telling you.

Its the POS BA10/5, with 90 Oil in it, I can look down it and see the oil is pretty clean, I guess I could drain it and refill it anyway though.....

Its just weird that I could using the right combo get into any gear, and they worked just fine (Except R, which I'm sure would work fine if I could get into it) but everything stopped working once I took out the shifter....

Would the AX-4 mount up behind the 4.2? Is it a internal or external slave?
