T18 Bell Housing Stud

Does anyone know where I can find a stud to use in my bellhousing for swapping in a T18?Or can I simply drill and tap the hole for a regular bolt?Seems like AMC must have used a stud for a reason.I am using a 6.32 geared T18 out of a '77 CJ7 either a T150 or T176 bellhousing.

I think the stud is more like a locating deal that a hold it together deal. There should be think spots inside the bell housing that line up with the T-18's bolt holes were you can drill and tap for regular bolts.
