Well I got it going, pics coming soon. I did the HEI mod. I was a bit hesitant about it just because it sounded too easy to be true, but I did and works so far.
It is amazing how simular the stock distrubutor and the cheby 250 are, I picked up one for 40, then snagged a AMC 360 dist gear from picked and pulled(thats what they should call it) for a few bucks. put it together with a new cap and rotor. dropped it in and determined that the oil pump drive thingy on the end needed to be ground a bit so that the dist would fit all the way down. I dropped it back in and bang it started right up and runs strong. Timing is at about 8 btdc, and the advance works as good as the stock did.
Now its off to the exhaust shop to get a new muffler and tailpipe added to the header and hi flow cat that I put in.I have a JeepComment
