Tire Pressure? 31 x 10.5

I just got a set of 31x10.5 and the guys at the tire store said with these bigger tires I need to air up to 40-45 PSI (for paved roads), not the 30 or whatever for normal sized tires

Is that right?

If they are BFG AT's I have the same tires and run them at 36 on street and barely ever air down offroad but when I do I go to about 25ish. My .02

get a piece of chalk, mark the tread, and drive around the block. if the entire line is not rubbed off, your pressure is too high.
