When my xj is idleing for a bit it smokes. The smoke is white, I know its not burning oil. Maybe the head gasket?. I don't feel a loss of power though. I did just put a straight pipe on, but I don't think that would cause it to smoke. When I drive, it dosn't smoke at all. any help would be great.

White smoke is water. Are you running out of coolant? A blown head is likely the cause.
