  • Spacers...going to be a problem???

Ok I have been thinking of getting some 1" or 1.5" wheel spacers for the YJ, mainly because my tires rub when if turned to far, but also cuz I just dont get dirty enough since everything hits the fender flares... haha... and I like the look of tires that stick out just a little bit.... BUT anyways, are 1" or 1.5" going to put too much strain on anything? I wont go any bigger than 1.5",and I can't afford rims with a different offset...atleast not now...

Spacers will put additional forces on things like hub bearings etc...I don't believe this will be any greater than running wheels with extra backspacing. I would estimate that an 8" rim w 5" BS and 2" spacers will put the same force on the hub components as 10" rims w 4" BS. If you add spacers to a 10" rim w 4" BS that would be asking for trouble.

The important part is to get decent spacers and install them carefully. You want billet spacers eg spidertrax or Trailsport (good value ) then install per instructions.
