  • NP231 04 in a 98?

I got a line on a NP231 with a SYE already in it for a good price. All I know at this point is its from a 04 TJ.

What else do I need to find out if it will swap right into my 98 TJ?

    Thanks
    Michael

it should fit. I dont know the specifics, but there were a couple different spline and lengths of Input shafts. 21 and 23 spline (IIRC). I think jeep did away with the 21 spline a while ago, if they didnt it would be in the 4 cyl TJ's and such. Through out the years, there have been several different lengths of shaft. If at all possible, I would measure how much is sticking out of yours, then ask the dude who is selling to do that same. Also count the splines.

when you are done with that, PM me. I might need your old t-case for parts. mine is a little worked over.

        Chris,

Thanks for the info. If/when I do this, I'll let you know on my old t-case but more than likely the new one will sit for a few months while I save up for other parts.
