Is it true that AMC sponsered a racing team with a Comanche back in the day? Please include link for more info.

I don't think AMC sponsored it though, I'm pretty sure Dodge had already bought out AMC before the Comanche came out, I know there were a few J 10 pickups on the deasert racing scene back in the AMC days though.

They sponsored Mike Leslie in Score events with Comanches in 1987-1991?
they were all red in color and ran 2.5s and 4.0s if I recall correctly; Jeep "loaned" them 4-5 Comanches for pre-run and race wrenching;
think they were Class 7 or 7S;
I know a mechanic who wrenched for them at races
