  • Torque Converter Cracked on 92 YJ

I have a 92 Wrangler , that back in 11/04 started to leak Tranny fluid. Turned out the torque converter was cracked! The mechanic that fixed it wasn't sure what would of caused that to happen. Well it's cracked again!
    Any ideas?

It cracked on the tranny side of the TC. From the center shaft towards the outside. Thanks

?? how did it get fixed before? new converter? I never cracked any of mine on the out side. I grenaded them from the inside 2 times. I run a chevy 350 with a TH 350 auto, with 35 inch tires. I talked to a tranny guy and he told me that all the stress from the extra weight of the moving the tires and such caused it, too much for it and they blew apart on the inside. I bought a heavy duty TCI one cost like $300 but I haven't had a problem yet. the other ones I blew apart were stock converters. the only other thing i can think of is have the main bearing checked on the tranny, if the shaft is moving it might cause it to leak fluid from around the seal.
