  • How to tell a 232 from a 258?

Is there a quick simple way to distinguish between a 232 and a 258 in an old CJ?

There are numbers on the flat boss by the distributor.

I am sure there are others on the net.

1983 should not have a 232 in it. My 1975 "POSTAL" is a different story.

Don't forget to try WEB searches, there is TONs of information out there.

My '83 has a 258.I have bought several CJ5 chassis over the last couple of months. Some with and some without engines. The valve covers mounted different on these and I got wondering if there was a way to tell the difference in the two engines.
