Need some info on Tranny upgrades. I've got a 79 CJ 5 with stock tranny and T-case. I'm looking to upgrade to a 4 speed tranny to help assist the large tires. Any help would be great. Keep on Truckin'!!!

Need the specifics on your jeep , what trans is in there now ? 3 speed ? T-150 ? bigger tires ? what size . just a note though A four speed trans will have the same Final drive ratio as a 3 speed or an auto , if you need overdrive you'll need a 5 speed or an overdrive auto . give us a little more info so we can be of more assistance .Originally posted by Chew Toy 79
