When installing axle shafts is there a special type or does it really need any? I know when removing some there was a hand full at the inside of the knuckle area and the outershaft

I just replaced my cv's the driverside was a two piece, broken then knew to me ujoint were much more stout looking and everything was awesome. Im now encouraged to see how the rear would be with the c-clip. I was wondering why the front doesnt have a c and the rear does but another day i will tackle that one.
