8.8 axle play ?

im in the process of doing an 8.8 swap. it is the 4.10 with limted slip and disc brakes. on the passenger side when i was doing the brakes i noticed that i could move the axle in and out about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. when i had the diff cover off i looked inside to see how everything looked and the c clip looked to be secure in its place even with the play. there is no up or down or side to side play only in and out. there is no play in the drivers side. is this normal for the limted slip axle or is this something i should have looked at?
