  • HELP!!! HP D30, What year of XJ?

I have a line on a D30 with Superior axles out of an 89 XJ. I haven't seen it yet but...

    Is it a HP?

    IS it a vaccuum disconect?

Do I want it for $300?

    Plans are for 4.88's & a spartan.

Don't know Curtis. The guy said he had a shop do install the axles & gears about 7 years ago. He couldn't tell me if it was a HP or not either. He wasn't much help.

Simply go take a look at it, it's pretty easy to see the difference between a low pinion or hi pinion axle.
Same goes for the vacuum disconnect. I think 90 or 91 was about the sweet spot. If they are one piece axle shafts it's pretty much worth the money if just use the axle shafts

depends on the transfer case. if its full time there's no vac disconnect part time should have disconnect. if it has had superior axles put in it, it would have a one piece passenger axle any way, axles alone are around a couple hundred a side so its probably worth the money just for that and you could use the shafts in your housing if nothing else

              Slipped through my fingers...

So I'm still searching. What years of housing would be desirable?
