  • Front TJ D30 axle shafts? 4 cyl vs. 6 cyl? Difference?

In search of spare parts for the Rubicon, I came across a complete 4 cyl TJ D30. Are the shafts the same as a 6cyl d30? Do the 4 bangers use 297/760 ujoints like the 6 cylinders do?

    Thank you

I think he has spare shafts for his YJ, he just wants mine from my XJ. I machined them for full snap rings (instead of those damn C-clips) and put some 760's in there. Probably the strongest stock set up, IMHO.

i do have a set of the small ones from an older yj.. but i also have a mixed set on my current jeep
i have one of the stronger ones on the drivers side, and a weakwer one on the passenger side from an older jeep.

XJ's and TJ's use the same dana 30 shafts also I think YJ dana 30's do too. If you are going to regear to 4.10's try to find a 4cyl TJ dana 30.
2001 TACOJ-7 with RE 6" long arm kit and 4" all pro lonp travel leaf springs in the rear with 37" MTR's, Kilby's gas tank skid plate, 4XDoctors rocker panels, Skid Row engine skid and steering box skid plate, M.O.R.E steering brace etc.. 99 Toyota Tacoma rear axle with 4.10's and E-locker, and 78 HP Dana 44 front with waggy axle shafts, flat tops, manual hubs, with chevy brakes.
