  • Transmission Cooler Recommendations

Looking to buy a tranny cooler. Can you guys give me some info. Are they all the same, meaning is there an electric fan vs. a non fan type?

    I found this one: http://www.bmracing.com/s.nl/c.72308...tegory.6172/.f

Is it any good and if so, which size----i have a I6 3 speed auto running 35x12.5x15 with 456 gears.

    Thanks

For a trans cooler bigger is better, if you can fit one in the grille infront of the radiator it's best
If yopu cannot shoehorn it in there then use one with a fan somewhere underneath. For ofroading one in front of the radiator is your best het.
Did you check your trans fluid if iot smell very burned and looks pretty well black then you overheated it enough to toast your trans.
A trans puking fluid out of the dipstick tube is not a good thing even though the 3 speed auto is pretty well bullet proof

Measure the space you have available behind the grille, in front of the radiator and then pick the biggest you can fit from here:

B&M's are nice but the Flex-a-lit, Hayden and Summit branded ones are great trans coolers and often cheaper priced. Don't forget to fill it up w/ some Full syn atf for peace of mind and better trans operation.
