  • CJ7 - New One piece Axles

Well, to celebrate a large pay cut, I ordered new one piece axles for my AMC 20 with the two piece axles.

They are Superiors. I also was practaclly given a trac-loc limited slip to insall also. (I know, the trac-loc is not good fro rock crawling - which I don't do). It will help in the sand, mud, & snow.

As soon as one of my sons is finished with an engine swap he's doing, he volunteered to help me with the project, probably in a few weeks.

This will probably be my last upgrade for awhile due to the big pay cut I'm getting starting 1 July.

Congrats Roger. The install is simple and straight forward. You'll need someone to press the bearings on the new axles...pretty cheap to have someone do.

I'm running Superior's also, and not a complaint.

        I fixed it for you.

Congrates on the axles. I seem to remember someone else using those words at one time. Now he's a mad man.
        Check out .

Thanks Chuck for fixing my typo error

Steve: Soooooo I can't use a sledge hammer to install the bearings? Dang...

Oh Mitch....are your ears burning yet? Seems your "trails and mines" pal Roger is about to follow in your footsteps.

Next thing you know Roger will be leading groups through Cougar Buttes.

Now the only thing Roger needs before Bullfrog is a real lift kit. Those "cow catcher" shackles need to go, then he will have a better approach angle. Good plan with the axles and locker Roger. Plus BF is so close to home.

BF = Bull Frog? Not anytime soon.

Go back to my original post! Huge pay cut = no upgrades.....

                  Roger,

My mechanic Ken laughs everytime I drop by to show the latest damage. I show him the video from Bullfrog / Hammerdown and just reminds me that I told him that I would only be on dirt roads and would never climb on the rocks. Roger you are next! Let me know when you are ready.

Congrats on the axles and on the pay cut, Roger. I got a pay cut a few months back, along with everyone else besides the owners. Now I'm enjoying the easy life.

Well I'd like to do a real lift, unfortunatley, the play money has dried up

I could humble myself and accept gifts of used 4" lift springs and used 33x12.5x15 tires laying around.

Roger, you can have my extra rear RE 4.5" springs. I will not be needing them anymore. I might have a few other items to help that cause.

Chuck, you are awesome! Thank you.

Now these springs won't make my Jeep flop?

Thankfully I did not flop with these springs so you should be fine.

Does anyone know the size & grade of bolts for a 2.73 ring gear for the AMC 20 axle.

I can't seem to locate that information on line.

                              Thanks
