  • clutch ajustment

    87 yj 5 speed is there an ajustment for the clutch as my clutch is on the floor, after several miles it's hard to get 1st or 2nd gear. alli see is the bleeder coming out of the bellhousing, will bleeding fix the promlem? thanks. rich.
    But can we SURVIVE 2 more years?

    If you don't have any leaks should work for you, Most of the time though you will find that you have a leak somewhere. just home that it is not the slave cylendar!

      surely someone has had this clutch problem. when first started the tranny shifts fine through all gears,although the clutch engages rite off the floor. after driveing several miles the tranny is hard to down shift into 1st & 2nd sometimes i have to shut the engine off put it in 1st and restart. anybody had this problem ? HELP!!!!!!!!
      But can we SURVIVE 2 more years?

        The symptoms show your clutch is no releasing from the flywheel..........Check the inside of the firewall behind the clutch pedal and see if there is fluid leaking under the carpet. Your Clutch Master cylinder could be bad. If you dont not have a fluid loss you may have to pull the transmission to see if the throw out bearing has gone through the flywheel or the fork is damaged.
