idle issue

my jeep has been running great the idle has been a little funny it idles, every once in a while it will die what controls the idle on a fuel injected 4.0 could it be a sensor going bad

Could be a couple of things, start with cleaning the throttle blade and bore then take a look at the idle air solenoid it sits on the throttle body and regulates the amount of air that goes into the engine at idle could be gunked up or it failed

il clean it out real good and see if that does the trick if the idle air silenoid was bad woulnt it send a cheak engine light thanks for the help il start with that

When the solenoid fails it generally does not set a code
