  • Dana 30 TJ and Xj

    OK ,
    will a front dana 30 out of a XJ fit in a TJ ,bolt patterns ,spring plate and axles,lockers and gears. will they drop in with no problems ?

    if your trying to pull the inners out of one and put it in another, it wont work unless the xj 30 is a low pinion, axles will but the gears wont. if your swappin complete axles, then it will bolt right in..

      thanks , the gears from the TJ will be put into the Xj housing

        as long as the xj is not high pinion it will work, most xjs are high pinion. the gears in hp are reverse cut.

          Most XJ housings are high pinion housings, so the gears will likely not work, unless its are very late model XJ axle. The XJ housing is bolt in, except you dont want a vac-disco housing (which most early ones are). The early brakes and outer knuckles are different. Luckely the TJ stuff will bolt on i its place. As for part interchanging, if the axle is a non vac disco housing, everything but the gears, outer knuckles, brakes and unit bearings (hubs) are the same.
