  • trans speedo gear question

    Hey Yall

GREAT NEWS! i just got a set of procomp xtreme mud terrains, 31x10.5 woot woot! but what i need now is the little gear for in my tranny or transfer case, the one that calibrates my speedo and odometer to the correct speeds taking into account the new tire size. can i order one online? how do i change it out? do i have to drop that big bastard belly skid? thanks for any help

It is a piece of cake one small bolt retains the speedo gear housing. Take it out pull the housing out slip the new gear in and then properly index it the housing can be rotoated to the correct spot for the required size speedo gear. You can order the gears from the dealer or Quardratec. I found that the dealer was cheaper

is it behind the cable thats at the tail end of my transfer case, right where the drive shaft exits? i was looking under there and saw this sensor//cable deal and im hopeing thats it, because it is only held on with one bolt. am i in the right area?
