  • self clearing engine light on night runs at altitude

i have an '06 tj with the stock powerplant. at last years "frightnight" event at hungry valley, durring the night run,the engine light came on. afrer the weekend in the dirt and ride home to orange co. and a nights rest it self cleared. so i let it go.at this weekends "HDR 37" same thing happened on the night run. ran in to barstow for some supplys and it clea:dohred, but awards night it popped up again and stayed on all the way home. anybody got any ideas? airflow sensor? i have a claen "k&n" in it. i dont think that has anything to do with it. alsothinking about a throttlebody spacer. do they really help with power and mileage?

My engine light will come on but no faults codes then it resets after a some miles or ignition cycles. No fault code, no problems or tail chasing. Check for fault codes, I think your OK.

gas tank gasket... do you smell gas at all? Desert Jewel had this issue, and I put a new gasket on the tank and it went away.

With an '06 you can got to Autozone and have them read the code and go from there. The computer should store the code for a certain amount of ignition cycles before it gets cleared out of memory.
