  • Lifted YJ Driveshaft

I got the used lift swapped from the other frame into Sues '93 YJ and the rear driveshaft doesn't even reach the transfercase. Until funds allow for a slip yoke eliminator and cv driveshaft has anyone used or shortened another drivshaft from a different vehichle in a YJ?

you should be able to get yours lengthened or shortened for about 75 bucks at a shop.
i'd do that so it is balanced until you can get a CV shaft and SYE

Not sure of any shops in this area to shorten a shaft(still new to Vermont). I was thinking of shortening an Xj rear shaft. I think I'll ask the local(1/2 hour drive) NAPA store about driveshaft work recommendations. In NY NAPA was open until 8PM over here it's 4PM so it's hard to get there and ask questions and I'm considered a "Flat Lander" over here still. Although many have stopped by saying they were impressed with the fact that I took 2 Jeeps apart and put 1 back together over the past few weeks...so at least I'm making progress! Business has been starting to grow also.
