The OX Locker cables come length's of 70", 78", 84", 87", 90", and 96". It would be best to measure the exact length that you need because different mounting locations will make a difference. My OX cable is very stiff and hard to gain or loss inches if needed. Also remember to add a good size arc when measuring, the cable doesn't bend in a tight angle. I wish that mine was along the door jamb instead of next to the transfer case shifter. I hits my calf and bugs big time! Good luck, my OX has worked perfect for me.
I mounted mine in front of the transfer case shifter. IMO if you have your doors on it may be difficult to reach. Desert Jewel told me that she has a difficult time reaching hers with the doors on.
Hey, I took a piece of 3/8" poly tubing and ran it like it like I would the cable. Then cut it off and measured it before order the cable. Cost me about $3.00 in tubing but saved me a huge headache in the end.

Do my eyes deceive, or is that a Quarter Stick you got there???
It's too bad Desert Jewel's setup doesn't function well with doors. It looks so good and clean. The only problem I had with it visually is that sticks don't belong on the left unless you're a passenger. It's a rule!

What length should I be buying for my 83 CJ7? I plan on mounting to the left of drivers seat.
Thanks in advance
Hey, just thought of something... you have a CJ. CJs have flat dashes. It would be SWEET if you could inset sticks into the dash for a super-clean look. Might be more trouble than it's worth though.

Did you see my dash at Calico? It's butchered to hell. One of my future projects is to start with a clean slate on the dash, with only the necessary items...ie no climate control, no glove box, no speaker holes, etc.
To answer your question on which side it exits the cover it is on the passenagers side for the AMC20 in the rear and the Driver side for the front Dana 30.

To bring up my old thread...I FINALLY ordered my ox cable and diff rebuild kit. Today, I mounted my OX shifter. I opted against to the left of drivers seat, and mounted on tranny tunnel.
