Why would you want the fan on a manual switch? It's just an opportunity for a big oopsie. If it were mine, I'd go 2 stage thermostatic switch... or even 2 thermostatic switches. Something to take the human error part out of it.

Just signed up. I live in Yuma and recently switched to a low temp thermostat. My engine used to run right up to 210 and now it stays around 180-190.

I've also overheated three times due to a bad electric fan connection. (Sorted out the fan with a new universal that seems to be holding up, for now.)

If you didn't overheat for long, and only to the temps you said, then it was probably just the radiator, especially since you don't see water in the oil, or a leak aywhere. Everytime I overheated I shut it off before it quit and haven't had any engine problems.

I'd look into an aluminum radiator. I found a direct replacemed on Quadratec for 92-02 YJ and TJs that's only $180 (vs. the $4-500 you usually see). My only question for anyone out there is if they know anything about this particular radiator (since you usually get what you pay for) and if it'd hold up. I'm sure there's a reason the rest of the aluminum rads you find are over $400.

its so when the fan spins when no power is bein put to it, drivin winds spin it or just after turnin off slow down, wont damage the engine
