  • RENIX 4.0 swap passed again

Well is has been two years since the RENIX 4.0 (non HO)swap. It passed with flying colors. It even passed the low-pressure evap test. I did change the filler to tank hoses before testing, i bypassed the broken roll-over valve when I did the engine swap.

    Ron,

I think it was Kodiak Spirit who recently posted about the evap test. He indicated it was for '86 and up so I wasn't worried. I read the link you posted and was bummed to read the test is required on vehicles back to '76.

I wonder how expensive a pre-test would be. I'm going to ask a local shop in Victorville that I use. I don't want to wait until the smog is due.

Yea it kinda sucks. I would hate to be the guy at the smog shop explaining this test and the extra money a hundred times a day.
