  • Gearing for 35's

What is a good gearing for running 35" tires. Some say 4.56 and other say 4.88. I want to keep the jeep strong on the trail while still being able to drive it on the freeway to the trails. What gear should I go with.

I'm also geared w/4.88s, with 33's no less. Depending on what you've got now, it may take a little getting used to. After a couple weeks you'll like them better than at first. Also, make sure to go thru the proper break-in process for the new gears and do a fluid change and flush of both diffs after 500 miles or so. Are you running a dana 44 in back? You might want to think twice before doing gears and 35's on a dana 35.
