Two things. Replacement lamps and housings like IPF. Also adding headlamp relays. Painless make an easy to install kit.

The prob here is the power for the headlamps goes through the switch. This reduces the amount of power available at the lamp, also the switches wear out quickly, especially the main beam switch. By adding a relay kit power goes directly from the battery (or suitable point) to the lamps. The only current that goes through the switch is a low power signal to trigger the relay.
