i have the gps 5 too.... let me know when you figure out how to utilize the options on it. lol
it is a great unit, but... too many bells and whistles. and the driving directions arent the best with the software they provide w/ it.
if you are going to use it in conjunction with a laptop, you can use a "delorme" mapping software which will allow you to use vouce commands, and it will verbally give you turn by turn directions.
it says that it will only work with its own software, but that is not true
