  • Dash CD Player Installation

My current jeep has a in dash AM/FM/Cassette player and I want to install an Alpine CD player in the dash. I can not find a mounting brackets anywhere online for the CJ7 and Crutchfield tells me no CD players fit CJ7's dash. I find that hard to believe looking at the gaping whole in my dash which appears to have plenty of clearance. I can purchase a Stereo Tuffy console and install that route but then I have would have to replace the entire dash to cover the gaping hole. Seems like overkill. Any ideas?

I got a CD/radio from Crutchfield for my YJ recently.

The model I wanted said some cutting required (or some such phrase) so I looked up the technical data and found the actual aperture dimensions required for the unit. This was not a lot different from the hole in my dash.

As it turned out installation was easy.
    "your jeep looks so hot!!"
