I have the Body Armor rear bumper/tire carrier. My wife bought (or she thought she bought) me some jerry cans to fit on the rear bumper. The bumper requires the Jerry Can to have a small lip on the bottom of the can, thats how the can rides on the bumper. My wife ordered the cans from JC Whitney. They look like Jerry cans but they are rounded at the bottom and have no lip, so they are basically useless. Any idea where I can get some REAL Jerry Cans? Everyone I talk to say you cant get them in Cali.

I don't like the jerry can mounting position on the Body Armor, it pushes the spare way outward and puts too much stress on the spindle. IMO, I don't think it is a good idea and just a matter of time until it fails.
Why don't you look at the Roto-Pax? A little spendy, but CARB legal and it will allow you to keep your spare nicely tucked close to the tailgate, something like this:
Otherwise, look at CL or Fleabay.
Edit: A little ghetto, but another option would be to bolt something like this on your carrier http://www.blitzusa.com/products/fue...ies/pfamcc.htmLast edited by Lawrence; 01-27-11, 10:48 AM.If you don't have the time to do it right, what makes you think you'll have the time to do it twice?

I bought a couple from Northern Tool last year. They are the Blitz metal Jerry can style. They say they are DOT and CARB legal. They shipped mine to CA. $39.99

I didnt wanna change a $1000.00 bumper so I could mount a $50.00 can from it. I will probably only have the cans on there when I go hunting.I'll keep my money, guns and freedom...you can keep the "Change".

The one advantage to the cans at 4 wheel parts is you can pick them up at the store and you can save on shipping
