  • Jerry Cans?

I have the Body Armor rear bumper/tire carrier. My wife bought (or she thought she bought) me some jerry cans to fit on the rear bumper. The bumper requires the Jerry Can to have a small lip on the bottom of the can, thats how the can rides on the bumper. My wife ordered the cans from JC Whitney. They look like Jerry cans but they are rounded at the bottom and have no lip, so they are basically useless. Any idea where I can get some REAL Jerry Cans? Everyone I talk to say you cant get them in Cali.

The real ones arent legal anymore in CA, private party, or drive to AZ would be your best bet
An XJ will always cost you less then any girl ever will, and you will always know when the spark is gone.

I don't like the jerry can mounting position on the Body Armor, it pushes the spare way outward and puts too much stress on the spindle. IMO, I don't think it is a good idea and just a matter of time until it fails.

Why don't you look at the Roto-Pax? A little spendy, but CARB legal and it will allow you to keep your spare nicely tucked close to the tailgate, something like this:

Otherwise, look at CL or Fleabay.

Edit: A little ghetto, but another option would be to bolt something like this on your carrier http://www.blitzusa.com/products/fue...ies/pfamcc.htm

        Try craigslist.

        Here's one example:

          Blitz Carb Legal

I bought a couple from Northern Tool last year. They are the Blitz metal Jerry can style. They say they are DOT and CARB legal. They shipped mine to CA. $39.99

4 Wheel Parts carries them, believe they are $50 each.

Thanks Cookie Monster I guess I will order some from Northern Tool, It looks like they have the lip on the bottom.

I didnt wanna change a $1000.00 bumper so I could mount a $50.00 can from it. I will probably only have the cans on there when I go hunting.

The one advantage to the cans at 4 wheel parts is you can pick them up at the store and you can save on shipping

Nortern tool no tax, frees hipping at times

Since Northern tool is out of state, there was no tax and when I purchsed my pair, there was a deal for no shipping if over $50. Overall came out much cheaper for 2 than at 4wp. You may want to check into it, depending how many you wanted.
