tj tailgate on a yj?

I've needed a new tailgate for a while I just really never notticed how bad it rattled on the fwy (driving farther now). I came across a tj tailgate for free and I just want to know if it'll fit hindge placement idc about I'll deal with it later. But is it the same size and will it latch?

Don't remember how the YJ latches, but the dimensions should be the same.

You should look for CJ7 tailgate and make it fold down instead of swing out.

I wanted to do the fold down but I got psc corners and they have the cut outs for the swingout hindges and this tailgate was free. One day I'll do that mod and cut out plate to fill in the corners with and get them repowdrecoated
