Hiya dennisuello, nice to see another truckee meadows person here. Nice jeep man. I plan on taking my tj soon on a test. Do you know of any mild places so I can get a feel for how she handles?

Hunter Lake Road is an easy place to get to. Starts 1 mile from McCarran and Caughlin Ranch pkwy.

Or you can also hook up with Hills Angels 4x4 club, we do quite a bit of trail riding.

I just got home from my initial trip. So far, it seems to do pretty well. I think the trail I went on was the same as the one you showed me, lol. Is it the one you get to off of villiage green by caughlin ranch? It was kinda up there a bit, by the power substation. I will mose certainly check out Hills Angels. Where do you usually meet at?

Hills Angels mostly uses Yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheHillsAngels/) to arrange trail runs, clean-ups, etc. we do also meet every months or so, but location varies, though it's always arranged on the group site.

sign-up on the site, club membership is free.

the next upcoming trail run is Strawberry Trail (of Hwy 50) on Oct. 18. i'm not going, since i have some projects to do around the house.

the group also adopted Hunter Lake Road (we have an official agreement with Forest Service) and we do regular clean-ups and patrols.

John, you're everywhere. Every time I find a new forum, you're already there, so the neighborhood went before I got here....

I guess I'll reintroduce myself. I've sold the XJ back in September and bought a 97 TJ in December. Now, I'm in the process of building that. It will have HP30, rear 44, 35" MTRs, 1" BL, 4" short-arm kit, etc.

here's the only pic i have so far:
