  • Yet another new guy!

    Hi!
I'm Chris and I live in Appple Valley, Ca. I moved here in 1974!
I just turned 36 last Sunday. I have never married and don't have any children.

I found this site through the L.A. Times article about muddy Jeeps!

I used to be into the gnarly off-roading. After destroying a Scout I decided to calm down some. I now use my TJ as a daily driver, Geocache hunting vehicle and the ocasional trail. I have a quad for the really rough stuff!

My Jeep is a Blue 02,TJ, 4.0, 5-speed, D-30/D-44w.3.73's and a hard top. Stock 30's and no lift for now..........Gimme time already!

Right now I'm working at an A/C and Radiator shop in Hesperia, Ca but I want to start a trucking business someday.

    Ok I'll :zip: it now.

Howdy, neighbor! There are a few others right here in Apple Valley too. Makes for a good summer night run. Where do you ride your quad? If you're not going to save your LA TIMES can we have it? I wasn't able to get a copy Wed.

Aww man! I already turned the paper into kindling. Sorry.

As for riding the quad.......I'm a nut! Last summer I rode it every weekend from my house thats near the South end of Deep creek rd to the Slash-X out near Barstow!

38 miles each way. I can do it on a tank of gas if the wind is not blowing. I have done it it 1hr 15 minutes each way. If I'm feeling adventuras I will ride over to the outlet mall and get gas. This is 98 miles round trip.

Lately I have been going to the Joshua bar on lake Arrowhead rd in Hesperia on Sundays. They serve free lunch on Sunday's there! They take a bag of meatballs and put them in a crock pot with some Teriyoki glaze and slow cook them.

They are the bomb! They also have free chicken wings too!

                        :thumbs_up

Kindling! It's not even cold out! Hehe, wow you ARE a nut! Which quad are you riding? I'm dying to get one after the Jeep and some other stuff is paid off. Rick's got a dirtbike and we head out to Dumont when the weather's nice there.

It's just a Kawasaki Mojave LOL My friends call it a girly quad because it's small like a Blaster. It's a 250cc double overhead cam, water cooled fire breather! It will hang with the larger (400cc) quads most of the time but it's really working to do so. Stock it is extreemly low geared, won't go real fast but it will do 0-55mph in a hurry.

It will do dunes but they sap alot of power from only a 250. I did make it to the top of Comp hill @ Dumont but it took a while!

But what the heck.......It's paid for.
