At first glance, I thought they were rally wheels. I had them on my 68 camero. One of the best wheels ever.

Got the new tires in, FINALLY!
31x9.5x15 TSL SuperSwamper Radials, mounted on old ford truck style 15x6 wheels with 3.75" back spacing (I think). It's a perfect fit, they are absolutely flush with the tub and front fender, and no rubbing lock to lock. Offroad, they will probably rub, and I'll eventually be putting a set of holbrook long-leaf springs on there (for a nice smooooth ride!) But for now as my daily driver, perfect fit
Took it for a test drive tonight to grab some Stone smoked porter to celebrate the new shoes, man it's a world of a difference. I can drive over a raised lane marker reflector, and hardly feel it! Little bumps just fade a way. I'm running about 22 psi, I'll experiment with lower PSI later, but for now I think it's a good starting point. Driving over small bumps and lane markers used to send a shock through my entire body. Not any more!
If the holbrook springs take out even 1/2 of the bucking that is still present due to the such short wheel base, this will be an absolutely awesome daily driver
I don't really hear the tires at all, but that's probably because the transmission/transfercase scream so loud in this thing, you wouldn't hear tank treads. I do notice a slight bit of difference when taking off from a stop on a hill (larger tires, 3" taller) but this thing is geared so low it doesn't really even matter. I think it's got 5.38s I think.
And on top of everything, I'm proud to support the Interco company from my home state of Louisiana

I'm open front and rear as well! I'd love to take it through holcomb, but I don't know if it would make it through the end of the trail, now that it's been beefed up a bit!
I'm hoping to take it through Last Chance Canyon and Nightmare Gulch before the year is up, to see how it does. Hopfully before then, I'll have a cage in there. Cause this thing is tippy I don't want to run to many trails in this thing while I still have the flat seat, lap belt, and no cage.Redneck Driveway Fab

I did pop in a new distributor with electronic ignition, no more points. I forgot to post about that. It starts quicker for sure, it maybe idles a bit better, but other than that, no difference. Accept for the fact that I won't have to check the points every month :beer:Redneck Driveway Fab

Jeep looks great. Wheel and tire combo is one of the best I've seen, and a classic jeep.
If your experimenting with tire psi, for comfort, this wont apply. If your looking for the best tire wear possible, try the chalk trick. Get a large piece of kids chalk, make a 1" wide line, across the width of the tread, on one tire f/r, on opposite sides. Then, drive the jeep fwd and back, about 30'. Go straight, don't turn the wheel. Then look at the chalk lines, on the tires. If just the middle is worn off, then your psi is too high, Worn edges, with the middle untouched, psi is too low. I do this every time I add or subtract something heavy to the jeep. I get 40k miles out of KM2's this way.It was like that when I got here.

Yea, I'm thinking about doing the chalk trick. Probably even if I put 40psi in these guys, it would still be smoother than the bias ply tires, haha!
I dig the wheel combo as well, I looked around for a while before I found them. I was originally going to just use some old CJ5 wheels, but had a difficult time finding any that weren't all rusted and corroded on the inside, so luckly I eventually found these. Without the cover, they look great on a jeep I think

go to the wheel vintiques website or browse around there on Summit, they make alot of wheels! My problem was finding one that had such a large center bore, and 3.75" offset so that the tires would be flush with the side of the tub. Managed to work out perfectly. I just called up Wheel Vintiques once I knew the specs of what I needed, and this was one of the ones they came up with.Redneck Driveway Fab

More pictures! I love pictures This time, shot through a lens from the same era. It does cool things to the contrast, colors, and focusing.

It doesn't have any coatings on the lens elements, so it flares/glares out easier than modern lenses with coatings. And the shape and arrangement of the elements gives it the defocus characteristics (a slight swirling) And also, it's just really scratched up, so I'm sure that adds to it. haha!
Here they are B&W
