Trip Across The San Bernardino Mountains 09/3-5/2011
I've done this entire run in one day, from Cleg over to Horsethief, even going back to run Holcomb over to the middle rock garden and back out to the East. I was alone so I made good time. With a group and camping it should be a sweet three day trip.
I sincerely apologize to anyone that showed up for this run and found noone at the trail head, this whole "PLAN" didnt go to plan at all, i will be doing this run as PLANNED in a few weeks with my 2 "RELIABLE" wheelers, i will post when that will be. again sorry for any inconvienence.
IH8RDS!!!! hey i was behind you on monday goin by the stanfield cutoff, while you were following a trailerd jeep, just lettin you know.
We have attempted to do this run starting on Rattlesnake in JV, Gold Mountain, John Bull through Holcomb, Dishpan, etc. we didn't have enough time to pull it off in 2 days. We had a group of 10 rigs and it was fun, however I wish we could have made the entire journey. We jumped onto the highway at dishpan springs and came home on Sunday. I think we messed around too much on John Bull and Dishpan Springs.
I would love to accomplish that mission. I will see if I can get a weekend pass to join you guys.
sounds fun hope to see you out there let me know for sure though!!!
e mail me if you can!

so far we have 2 xj's going set up just like mine, a 95 land cruiser on 35's, an 07 rubicon 4dr on 37's (he will be the most equipped in our group) a 91 bronco on 35's (maybe) and a guy on a dual sport (maybe) justin97 above mentioned hes interested with a wrangler, and one other guy asked about the trip through a PM.
What are the rigs looking like that are going? I have a 2003 TJ with a 4 inch rough country suspension. 32x11.5 tires. Hi Lift, chain, tow straps, but no winch... Might be able to pull this one off... If not all might be able to meet somewhere and do 2nd day.
lol i already picked one up at the local ranger station, thanks tho! i just noticed how they put a definition of what a campfire is, how in the world does someone not know what a campfire is?
yup yup i am well aware of that and i gotta get a permit thing for propane stove too lol ive ben around these mountains for a long time. weve ran 2n17x back in march and it didnt seem too bad, we always pack light and strap everything in, i dont like projectiles within the jeep
Sounds good, we dont have a problem with newbies as long as you have some 4 wheelin experience most everyone in our group except me has ben wheeling for only about a year, ive done it all my life lol
