Yellow Post Campsite Occupancy and Use Policy
o The San Bernardino National Forest does not issue camping permits or
take reservations for yellow post campsites
o Yellow post campsites will be available on a first-come-first-served
basis
o Adventure Passes are required on parked vehicles at most yellow post
campsites
o A California Campfire permit is not required for a campfire or
barbeque at yellow post campsites; Campfires must be constructed in the
agency-provided campfire ring and only when Forest Fire Restrictions
permit; Campfires are allowed when restrictions are Low or Moderate and may
be restricted when Fire Danger Level is High
o Yellow post campsites are limited to a maximum of 8 persons at any
one time; There is limited parking at these sites for 2 vehicles
o There is no trash service at yellow post campsites; Campers must take
all trash home for disposal
o There is no drinking water at yellow post campsites; Campers must
bring their own drinking water
o The is no restroom facility at yellow post campsites; Campers should
bury human waste in a 6” deep cat-hole outside of the campsite
o Tie livestock outside of yellow post campsites and use a tie line
with “tree savers” to protect trees; Remove any livestock manure from
within the campsite
o Avoid parking on grasses and vegetation at all times
o Yellow post campsites have a 14-day camping limit
