  • Volunteer to open a new appoved trail in Lake Isabella

    For those in the Lake Isabella, CA area, here is an opportunity to
    volunteer and open a trail.

    >I have just gotten approval for us to rehabilitate a trail that has
    >not been used for a while.
    >In these times of trail closure it is rare that we get to reopen trails.
    >It is a couple of miles long & is similar to the Kern Canyon trail in layout.
    >It has been fully NEPA approved & is legal. I spent five hours
    >walking part of it with the ranger the other day.
    >I hope this will spur those of you who were unsure of whether they
    >had the time to help.
    >Come on out & help us reopen a trail. THIS IS A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY
    >Lets show the BLM & Forest Service that we care about our trails.

    >178 in Lake Isabella CA exit onto 155 toward Kernville 1.1 miles
    >turn LEFT on KEYESVILLE ROAD just past Kern River, go 0.7 miles to

    >FREE CAMPING is available right here. No water or electricity
    >Bring lunch, water, hat, gloves. We will have tools but bring,
    >shovel, pick, clippers if you can
