  • Windows Firewall

Do not trust the firewall that comes built into Windows XP SP2.

I am trying to get it to block a sepcific program from communicating with another another computer on our network at work and having no luck.

Yes sarah, you can now say how good macs are that they do not need a firewall....

windows fire wall is kinda weak, I have had McAfee, Norton, and now use Bunderbunds. All the others I have had issues with.

Almost all of the virus/hacks are targeted at exploits in Windows software. To be honest I have never heard of a Mac virus. So we use firewalls on Windows networks/machine to help protect our machines.

Mac's don't need firewalls, nobody keeps anything critical on toy computers anyway

You're _supposed_ to be printing bar code stickers for your rock/tree/lizard inventory of your Adopt-a-Trail

Silly Rubiconn, you do not bash apples you eat them, or chop them up for pies. Also you can mash them into sauce, but you do not bash them.

I stopped bashing Macs when they went to a BSD based OS.

I opened the CLI and typed tcpdump... and it worked. That is enough to shut me up. I was also able to ls -altrh, vmstat, all the fun stuff is there, and you can still click, clickity click through the GUI.

But alas, the company picks the laptop.
