Found out there is a huge fire in Morongo Valley which has Hwy 62 closed. Looks like I am going to have to drive through Joshua Tree National Park taking the Cottonwood Springs entrance which is down past Indio.

I really wanted a 2-3 hour drive home in 110+ heat and pay $7 to get into the park.
