The Appleseed Project is hosting their biggest event ever, called the Corona 210 this weekend. http://www.corona210.com/
They combine first rate marksmanship training (stability, breathing, natural point of aim, pulling, etc...) in conjunction with a historical context, associated with the events of related to the Revolutionary War. The Corona 210 celebrates the 210th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution.
In addition to shooting for two straight days (about 500 rounds per person), there's a great raffle, including an actual M1 Garand, a fully outfitted Ruger 10/22, I think about 6 other .22's of various types, and a $500 gift certificate to Turner’s Outdoorsman, and other stuff.
You don't need to shoot both days, you can sign up for just Saturday if that's all you have time for, but both days is definitely better.
This will be my third Appleseed, and I'm determined to get my Rifleman qualification this time around, only missed it by a couple of points last time. Here is a quick rundown of the AQT target used to qualify: http://www.libertysprice.org/oldsite/aqt.htm
Looks like this:
Heck, even Stu from Stu's Offroad has participated in Appleseed:
