Motorhome and flat tow the jeep. That way when camping and not wheeling you don't have to tow anything.

i dont know what your budget is but one of the guys uphere i sled with from time to time has the big bucks so he runs a modified gmc topkick which is prettymuch a double cab and then it pulls like a 43(dont quote me) foot trailer. this thing has the front half as a motor home, the back half is a shop///garage. i have seen 6 sleds in there or 4 quads and 2 dirtbikes. he has hauled a truck in it a time or two. but i would hazard a guess at upwards of 300000 for the set, but like i said he rolls in the cash

I wish I rolled in the cash... if money were no issue, I would be rolling in one those big diesel pushers with a bitchin' car hauler behind it... I will update as I uncover more information... If anyone has other input, please add it!

When I was shopping I made a list of the features/amenities from absolutely necessary to it would be nice to have.

IMHO the weak spot on most THs is the trailer tire/axle capacity. Some THs can carry 200 gallons of water. Add in the weight of your Jeep, gear, beer, etc. and you will probably be at or over the tire/axle ratings of the trailer.

Where will your primary camping locations be? Campgrounds? Boondocking?

FWs are great for pavement and graded dirt roads. They tow much better than BPs. You can safely tow a larger FW. I know someone who has hit their FW on their truck box on a rough dirt road. An axle flip is a must if you plan on taking a FW on anything worse than a graded road. If your truck is a 4x4 you will probably want/need an axle flip anyway.

What are your rear tires rated for? FWs generally have 25% pin weight and BPs 12.5% tongue weight. You don't want to overload your rear tires.

Wow! Took the Jeep down to the scales today... Weighs 4200#... Not sure yet, but I think that may eliminate 99% of the toyhaulers out there and I haven't found the 1% that may still be viable...

Like I said a converted enclosed car hauler would be the ticket. Universal trailer in fontana area still might be making them. They are petty basic with a bathroom ,shower,1 sink and some fold up beds but what can I say your camping. If you want luxury I would get a motorhome with a trailer.
