I am planing on stretching my yj's wheelbase at least 6 inches. I think that I have read every build on the www about it. I want to keep my Jeep pretty mild. I am going to keep my same axles (HP30/8.8) and I want to stay spring under. I only want to run 35s but I should be able to run 37 later if I get some stronger axles. I want to keep my rear seat so I'll be using the genright EXT gas tank. I am going to use XJ springs in the rear and maybe waggy springs in the front(i may just brake down and buy some alcans because I am picky). I plan on trimming up my rear fenders and using tj flares.
What I am still trying to figure out is my rear spring hangers. The Blue Torch Fab kit looks great and easy to install. But I really want to keep my bumper/ tire carrier. I have seen people make their own spring hangers and I have seen people use the RuffStuff Way Back Spring hangers. I like the RuffStuff hanger but my Dirtworx bumper is only bolted on to the rear core. How can I mount spring hangers far back enough for XJ springs and keep my bumper. Also I want to keep my Jeep as low as possible. Looking to be 2-3 inches over stock when I am done. Any help from the more experienced Jeep builders is appreciated.
