I'm not sureabout swapping in a newer cluster. I would imagine that it would work, but I'm not positive. I was going to do that with my 88, but instead bought a gauge pod. Goto www.summitracing.com and look for an Autometer A-Piller gauge pod for a 92 Ford F-150 (I believe it was). It fits the A-Pillar perfect and you can throw 2 gauges in there. I put a tach and was planning on putting a real oil pressure gauge, but never got around to it. Good Luck! Let us know what you find out.

as im sure some of you know that the old xj as im sure others were the same had no tachometer, only a BIG BIG gas guage. im wondering if it is possibly to swap a newer cluster that has the tach and all those other goodies onto one of these older jeeps?
