  • Shock extensions...

    These are made from the rear swaybar axle side brackets from an XJ and a piece of 2" square tube.

    I ended up welding them to the axle mount, as I ended up having the bolts pull apart that were holding the ext. to the axle. I really need to get longer shocks, but I can run a stock shock on a 3-4" lift without complaint. These are still in use, allthough I am now running actual lift shocks, with the extensions, which is good because the stock length ones were preventing me from using the addtional droop that this thing has. It can actually drop the tire completely out of the well, below the the bottom of the fender.
    I am running the YJ stock brake hoses, and I still had to move my brake hard line down because this thing flexes enough that it was trying to pull the brake hoses apart. Man, do I ever love my home brew lift!!!
